Tim Moore

Sr. Pastor

Pastor Tim C Moore and his wife Connie

Pastor Tim Moore was elected Senior Pastor of First Leander on November 17, 2019, with a strong sense of excitement and purpose to lead the church toward its flagship historic legacy. With a deep conviction for the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, a passion for evangelism, and a heart for people, he believes that every individual, regardless of race or background, deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel’s life-changing message.

Before answering the call to ministry, Tim had a successful career in the corporate world. A native of Kermit, Texas, he attended Texas Tech University before working as a political consultant, advising major corporations and non-profits, and assisting Congress and the state legislature. His career also led him to serve as a church mobilizer on biblical immigration for World Relief.

For many years, Tim was involved with the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas, where he served as a Congressional & Legislative Liaison to the Ethics and Religious Liberty Committee. He spent 10 years on the staff of Great Hills Baptist Church, where he led in multiple roles: Pastor of Missions, Single Adults, and Faith & Evangelism Director. Tim also contributed to the Austin Area Pastors Council by offering insight on local and statewide issues.

In 2004, Tim transitioned from bi-vocational ministry to full-time ministry and was ordained in 2007. Today, he serves as the President and CEO of Walk Worthy International Missions, an organization dedicated to providing disaster relief through medical equipment shipments and developing medical clinics and hospitals in impoverished areas around the world. His international mission teams have seen more than 25,000 documented professions of faith.

Tim’s heart for ministry is matched by his love for people and his commitment to sharing Christ. He is a God called, Spirit-empowered communicator of truth with a great heart to love and encourage people.

His wife, Connie, currently serves as the Women’s Director at First Leander. Together, they have two grown children—Michelle, who lives in Round Rock, and Todd, who lives in Lubbock—and three grandsons: Austin, Luke, and Tanner.
